Valeria Pomarici

Valeria has been working with executive roles in th no-profit sector for 15 years, developing both Program Management and Fundraising skills. Valeria is now a free-lance project developer and project manager; her recent collaborations for Afron onlus, Save the Children Italy and Maywald
Consulting.

Formerly, as Executive Director in Amka onlus, Valeria managed as an iterative process the entire chain, from needs assessments to project definition, execution, control, reporting… Valeria was responsible of the strategic planning, supervised and coached more than 8 employees and 150
volunteers on participatory planning and result-based management.

When on the field (Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Guatemala), Valeria had to manage collaboration with local authorities and several distinct local and international partners, including NGOs, UN organizations (FAO, UNICEF, WFP). While building synergies and partnerships, however the main focus has been engaging rural communities in participatory-based feasibility studies and monitoring processes, nurturing dialogue, listening and moderating with village leaders, teachers, doctors and care providers, engaging mothers, young adults and villagers.

Valeria holds a Master’s degree in Project Management for International Cooperation, ASVI Social Change School, Rome, a specialization in African Studies, ISIAO (Istituto Italiano per l’Africa e l’Oriente) Rome, and a Bachelor degree in Communication Sciences, at the Università di Roma, La Sapienza. She is fluent in Italian, English and French, and speacks German. Valeria is a very proud and happy mum of two children.
